Plum Industries

Background

Plum Industries was established in 2004 initially to promote electronic & experimental music, artists and events in Cairns, beginning as a website and a radio show - Plum Jam Sessions (Cairns FM 89.1).

Throughout 2005-06 Plum Industries contributed to numerous events in Cairns working to support and promote local, national and international artists. Some events include Spark Series @ Tanks Art Centre, On Edge New Media Arts Festival, MusiCairns and Liquid Architecture.

Early 2006 Plum Industries joined Melbourne-based netradio site StraightUp and began streaming the Plum Jam Sessions shows online. After relocating to Sydney in September 2006, Plum Industries reinvented the radio show and Resonant Tapestry was born. Co-presented by Jennifer Teo & Sofie Loizou, Resonant Tapestry was a fortnightly experimental and eclectic freestyle netradio show that ran throughout 2007.
